"The Earth Centered Universe" 2014 Observer's Handbook Edition

Nova Astronomics in partnership with The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada is proud to present The Earth Centered Universe V6.0 Observer's Handbook Edition for 2014.

This “Observer’s Handbook Edition” of the Windows-based planetarium software product The Earth Centered Universe (ECU) V6.0 is included with the RASC's 2014 Observer's Handbook.

This version of The Earth Centered Universe (ECU) was specifically developed for the The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada to be bundled with the 2014 Edition of its Observer's Handbook. As this software is bundled with the annually-published Observer's Handbook, its use is time-limited. It will function no later than March 31, 2015 and will not perform predictions for events later than December 31, 2015. You will be reminded well in advance of this date.

ECU is a full-featured planetarium and star-charting software that has been used by thousands of amateur astronomers and educators for nearly two decades. It operates with all versions of Microsoft Windows from Windows 2000 to Windows 8).

It is also known to work (but is not supported by Nova Astronomics) on many other computers that use Mac OS X or Linux with the free Wine emulator (see www.winehq.org - Mac users may find this Wine installation tutorial helpful).

The Handbook Edition has some features of ECU Pro disabled.

It addition to ECU's many advanced features and celestial-object databases, the "Observer's Handbook Edition" includes data from the stellar and non-stellar catalogues printed in this Handbook - all 17 of them! For the first time you can visualize their location in the sky, prepare finder charts, and browse the many data fields.
